There has never been a more energetic and exciting instructor than Master Kyle Cowan, and to this day it can still be said. Master Cowan has dedicated almost half of his life to the Martial Arts and South Austin Karate, becoming a summer camp leader and instructor in May of 1996. This experience mixed with his incomparable interpersonal skills and energy has made him one of the best instructors SAK has or will ever have. Sensei Cowan has been a Black Belt since 1997 and was the second person to achieve the prestigious rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in Ba Ki Do. On May 8, 2004 at South Austin Karate's semi-annual Black Belt Banquet and Ceremony he was promoted to 6th Degree Black Belt, elevating him to the title of Master. Master Cowan is Certified for secondary education for 8th through 12th grade and is in the process of finishing his Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics at Texas State University with a Minor in Psychology.
